Gaming giant Caesars Entertainment shared on Tuesday its financial report for the fourth quarter and full-year 2021. The company posted net revenues of $2.6 billion for Q4, up from $1.6 billion for the comparable prior-year period. Century Casinos announced Wednesday it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks, near Reno in Nevada, from Marnell Gaming for a total of $195 million. This will become its tenth casino in North America. The Colorado-based operator will purchase a 50% interest in Smooth Bourbon for $95 million, which represents a capitalization rate of 7.9% based on preliminary 2021 numbers. The British Columbia Lottery Corporation said on Tuesday that, despite projected continued growth, online gambling sites operating illegally in B.C. are increasing their investments in sponsorships and advertising in both the Province of British Columbia and across Canada, which could cut revenues for the company. Arizona has taken another step in its road to consolidating the state’s three regulators -the Arizona Racing Commission, the Arizona State Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts Commission, and the Department of Gaming- into a single, new state gaming commission. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has published new research which shows an increase in online gambling among Australians. The report, shared last Thursday, shows more than one in 10 (11%) Australians have reported participating in iGaming at some stage in the previous 6 months, up from 8% in 2020.
