Anyone waiting for Oklahoma sports betting just got a ray hope last week. A bill to bring the activity passed from a House Committee recently, and aims to legalize wagers on sporting events at state tribal casinos. This proposed legislation, House Bill 3008, stops short of regulating mobile betting. All transactions would be required to take place in person at a casino. Gaming giant Caesars Entertainment shared on Tuesday its financial report for the fourth quarter and full-year 2021. The company posted net revenues of $2.6 billion for Q4, up from $1.6 billion for the comparable prior-year period. For the full year, net revenues increased to $9.6 billion from $3.6 billion in full-year 2020. Century Casinos announced Wednesday it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks, near Reno in Nevada, from Marnell Gaming for a total of $195 million. This will become its tenth casino in North America. The Colorado-based operator will purchase a 50% interest in Smooth Bourbon for $95 million, which represents a capitalization rate of 7.9% based on preliminary 2021 numbers. The British Columbia Lottery Corporation said on Tuesday that, despite projected continued growth, online gambling sites operating illegally in B.C. are increasing their investments in sponsorships and advertising in both the Province of British Columbia and across Canada, which could cut revenues for the company.
