Churchill Downs filed on Monday an application to rezone land for a Vigo County casino on Terre Haute. The new chosen spot is on the east side of the city: the location is on the north side of East Margaret Drive, just west of State Road 46.  The application was filed with the Vigo County Area Planning Department and seeks to rezone agricultural land to a C-3 Regional Commerce District in order to begin the development process for the Queen of Terre Haute Casino Resort. The 11 casinos and racinos in Ohio raked in $171.2 million in January, a record-setting figure for the Buckeye State, according to a report released on Monday by the Casino Control Commission. Ohio’s new best January ever for revenue finds gambling venues in the state bouncing back from a dip the same month last year, amid COVID-19 restrictions.  The previous January record was $167.5 million, posted in 2020. Evolution on Monday announced that it has renewed its existing US agreement with FanDuel Group to become its sole provider of live dealer table games across the entirety of the regulated US online gaming market. The South Dakota Senate has narrowly passed a proposal to allow voters to decide whether to expand online sports betting across the state. Maryland casinos raked in about $153 million in gaming revenue in January, according to a report released by the Maryland State Lottery and Gaming Control Agency on Monday. New Yorkers have wagered about $1.6 billion in mobile sports bets in January, according to an official report by the New York State Gaming Commission. The new figure has led the Empire State to break the record for monthly handle, which was held by New Jersey, which posted $1.3 billion in bets in October.
