Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) announced on Thursday that Austin Miller will retire effective March 1, 2022, after eight years as Senior Vice President of Gaming Operations with the company. CDI appointed Maureen Adams to fill this position. Many of you already know that Bally’s Corporation agreed to purchase the Tropicana Las Vegas last April. The sale came to just over $300 million. Maryland’s five sportsbooks took in about $32.5 million in retail bets in January, their first full month of sports gaming, according to a report by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA).  The sportsbooks paid out about $28.1 million in prizes, resulting in a hold rate of $13.4% and $4.3 million. The total taxable win for the state was $4.2 million, once winning payouts and promotional plays are reduced.
