P enn National Gaming has reported plans to lay off nearly 1,150 workers at Louisiana locations next month, the latest job losses to hit casinos in the wake of coronavirus-related economic shutdowns. About 161 workers for L’Auberge Hotel and Casino in Baton Rouge are expected to be laid off and 441 additional workers are set to be laid off at the L’Auberge Lake Charles casino on August 15, according to Louisiana Workforce Commission Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act notices filed by Pennsylvania-based Penn National. D ue to the rising number of coronavirus cases in the community, Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino announced on Monday that it would temporarily suspend its table game operations. The closure for the pit and poker is in effect at midnight, July 7, Fox 5 reports. The accident occurred around 2 p.m. in Emmet County Michigan, where the Sheriff’s Office said Mr. Haskins was riding a Sea-Doo jet ski which collided with a Magnum powerboat. T he Detroit Tigers have struck a sponsorship deal with a global sports betting operator starting this season as the organization prepares for the launch of online sports gambling. R esorts World, expected to open its doors on the Las Vegas Strip in summer 2021, debuted a 100,000-square-foot LED screen with a fireworks show for the Fourth of July holiday this weekend.
