Gibraltar’s Chief Justice has issued a GBP 5 million worldwide freezing order for the assets of former Mansion CEO Karel Christian Mañasco. The mechanism, described as a court’s “nuclear bomb”, follows claims for damages by the company to the tune of more than GBP 2.3 million. Mansion said its former topman dishonestly obtained luxury cars, high-value watches, bonuses and allowances using company money, reports GBC News. Proponents believe this could be the year Kentucky finally legalizes sports betting, as Republican Rep. Michael Meredith has recently filed new legislation, HB 551, to that end. Churchill Downs Incorporated announced Wednesday that it closed on the sale of 326 acres of the former Arlington International Racecourse property in Arlington Heights, Illinois, to the Chicago Bears for $197.2 million per the agreement announced in September 2021.
