The long awaited (and long overdue) Fontainebleau Las Vegas has announced that they will open their doors this December. The development company running the project did not give a specific date, but did confirm what they are calling a “global debut” before the end of the year… but after the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix in mid November.

The 67-story, $3.7 billion luxury resort will boast over 3,600 rooms, with world-class restaurants, shops, and nightlife. It was also feature a spa, wellness services, pool experiences, and 550,000 square feet of convention space.

After the original project fell through, the property has changed owners several times. For a while, it was going to become the Drew Las Vegas. But that project (like many others) fell victim to the 2020 pandemic. It soon came back to one of the original Fontainebleau Las Vegas developers, Jeffrey Soffer.

Now, Fontainebleau Las Vegas is full speed ahead. In fact, they have officially launched their online recruitment portal, and say they are looking to employ “thousands of hospitality professionals” in the Las Vegas area. They’ve also named Brett Mufson as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Soffer said the property was mostly complete when he came back on-board, adding “We are grateful to have the opportunity to finish what we started and finally introduce the iconic Fontainebleau brand into one of the world’s largest hospitality destinations.
