Resorts developer and manager Mohegan Gaming has announced financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2023. For the three-month period ended December 31, the gaming arm of the Mohegan Tribe posted net revenue of $406.6 million, marking a 1.2% increase when compared to the same quarter the previous year. Income from operations nearly doubled year-over-year, climbing to $70.2 million. Adjusted EBITDA during Q1 grew by 3.8% and reached $101.1 million. State gambling regulators signed off on Thursday the initial steps toward the opening of Chicago’s first casino, voting in favor of a license for Medinah Temple to serve as the home of a temporary gambling hall that developer Bally’s hopes to open by June. On Thursday, the Hawaii Senate’s Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection approved a bill that would ban casino advertising in the state. The proposal was amended to remove references to Nevada resort properties, including Las Vegas-based Boyd Gaming, which for decades has run a business to attract Hawaiians to Sin City.
