  • BetOnline pays out bets on Chiefs to win AFC West after just four games
  • BetOnline believes KC’s early-season lead is essentially insurmountable, barring a season-ending injury to Patrick Mahomes
  • 4-0 Chiefs will face 2-2 Raiders in Week 5

We may only be about one-fourth of the way through the 2020 NFL season, but some are already willing to jump to conclusions. We still have six teams that have yet to suffer a loss, while another four remain without a victory.

One of the unbeaten teams is the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are 4-0 following Monday’s easy 26-10 win over the shorthanded New England Patriots. Kansas City entered the season as massive favorites to win another AFC West crown this season, though some did expect the Chargers, Raiders, and Broncos to improve.

While there is still a long way to go between now and Week 17, the folks at BetOnline.ag have seen enough. On Tuesday, BetOnline announced that any bettors that placed a wager on the Chiefs to win the division this season have already been paid out.

Dave Mason, BetOnline’s brand manager, said,

“With the way the AFC West is unfolding, we felt very comfortable moving forward and rewarding Chiefs bettors early. The only way Kansas City doesn’t come out on top is if Andy Reid eats too many hamburgers or Patrick Mahomes suffers a season-ending injury, and nobody wants to see that.”

Can the Raiders Make It a Race?

While the Chiefs are perfect thus far, their lead in the division isn’t exactly insurmountable quite yet. The Las Vegas Raiders are 2-2, with a chance to gain a game in the standings when the two teams clash in Week 5.

The Los Angeles Chargers have endured some injury issues, notably to starting QB Tyrod Taylor, but rookie Justin Herbert has acquitted himself well since being pressed into duty. In spite of Herbert’s solid play, though, Los Angeles is 0-3 in his starts to this point.

The Broncos, meanwhile, got their first win of the season last Thursday over the hapless New York Jets. Denver is already on its third starting quarterback of the season, though, after an injury to Drew Lock and the benching of Jeff Driskel forced the team to turn to rookie Brett Rypien.

If the Chiefs ultimately stumble and fail to win the division, BetOnline says they will be out an amount in “the low six-figure range.”

Other Chiefs Betting Options

BetOnline also isn’t accepting new bets on the AFC West, so you missed your opportunity if you failed to get that wager in before now. The Chiefs are commonly listed as nearly insurmountable favorites at most other NFL betting sites, though, including -3300 odds to win the division at MyBookie.

While you may have missed your chance to wager on the Chiefs winning the AFC West, you can still bet on Kansas City to win the Super Bowl for the second straight year.

The unbeaten Chiefs are currently +350 favorites to win Super Bowl 55 at BetOnline, which puts them well ahead of the Baltimore Ravens (+600), Seattle Seahawks (+800), and Green Bay Packers (+850).

Mahomes is also in the running to win his second career MVP award. Seattle’s Russell Wilson is a +200 favorite thanks to his hot start, while Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers is now right behind him at +300. Mahomes is listed at +500.
