Independent gaming certification lab BMM Testlabs is set to open a new office and product testing laboratory in Slovenia in May 2022, the company announced on Monday. The new location will feature former management and senior testers of the Slovenian Institute of Quality and Metrology (SIQ) gaming lab.

The space will be headquartered in Ljubljana, Slovenia’s capital and largest city. BMM Slovenia will be tasked with providing product testing, certification and inspection services for games, systems, and associated equipment for the gaming industry across online and land-based gaming, a press release explains.

BMM Slovenia will be led by Damjan Semec, former SIQ Gaming Department manager, who has 20 years of gaming laboratory experience. Semec, along with a range of local gaming lab experts, represent “a combined gaming lab experience of over 150 years in product and system certification,” according to BMM.

“BMM’s reputation as the best gaming test lab in the world is strengthened by the experience of the established team we have assembled,” said Damjan Semec, BMM Slovenia Managing Director. “The team’s gaming lab experience in the areas of mathematics, source code, and product testing combined with BMM’s regional capabilities, create the foundation to deliver world-class services to European customers with aspirations to expand internationally.”

The BMM Slovenia subsidiary will work closely with BMM’s European gaming labs in Spain, Italy, and Bucharest, as well as BMM’s ten additional locations around the world “to continue to provide its customers access to the global gaming industry,” the company says.

“We appreciate the opportunity to extend gaming testing in Europe for customers with this most experienced team in place,” commented Martin Storm, BMM CEO. “This group has been servicing manufacturers and operators from Slovenia successfully for many years.”

According to the executive, by joining forces with BMM the new team will now have the ability to continue that service “while taking all gaming customers’ products everywhere” through BMM’s global licensure. “BMM offers services for every gaming product in every gaming market around the world,” noted Storm.

BMM describes itself as the longest established and most experienced private independent gaming certification lab in the world, having provided professional technical and regulatory compliance services to the gaming industry since 1981.

The systems-expert company has successfully tested and certified the full scope of Class III, Class II, VLT, AWP, HHR, online/iGaming, sports betting, social, pari-mutuel, and lottery products for over four decades. It authored the first set of independent gaming standards in 1992 and the first set of online gaming standards in 2001, and  currently serves over 470 gaming jurisdictions.

BMM Testlabs is set to participate in the upcoming ICE London trade show, which will be taking place at ExCel London next week, between April 12-14. The company will be discussing pressing topics in the industry, including sports betting and online gaming.

“We are looking forward to having conversations about sports betting compliance and online casino gaming approvals at ICE London this year,” said Jon Stuckey, SVP Business Development, EURSAM. “New regulations for legalizing sports betting and online casino gaming have been surfacing globally, and BMM is prepared to educate our partners on the proper compliance procedures and requirements.”

The company encourages attendees and exhibitors to stop by the BMM Testlabs stand N3-420 to network with the test lab’s “world-renowned product certification, quality assurance testing, and compliance services team,” a press release says.
