This week’s golf action sees several big names head to Wentworth, Surrey for the annual BMW PGA Championship.

Rain over the last few days has softened the course meaning it will play longer than normal, but on the plus side, this will help the accurate players keep their ball on the fairway.

BMW PGA Betting – Players To Watch

Tommy Fleetwood (49/4) arrives after a positive performance at the Scottish Open. The 29-year-old was in prime contention on the play-off hole until a great recovery from Aaron Rai put the pressure on Fleetwood who missed a simple putt to take it to a 2nd play-off hole.

Fellow Brits Lee Westwood (37/1) and Ian Poulter (27/1) were also in contention in Aberdeen but a more favourable inland course this week may give them something to build on.

Patrick Reed (25/2) has opted to travel over from the States and leads the market but Justin Rose, who has been out of sorts in recent weeks, returns to a course he knows very well. This tournament could well give the Englishman a confidence boost as we hurtle towards the Masters in November.

So where do we think the value is?

Matthew Fitzpatrick has had five top 10 finishes this year including a third-place finish at the Memorial Tournament, earning over $600k in prize money. 67/4 might just be a big price at the turn on Sunday.

Ian Poulter stated last weekend ‘that one bad drive over the four days’ cost him a better finish in Aberdeen. If he can continue this and improve on his driving accuracy (outside the top 100 for the current season), the Wentworth set-up could play into his hands.

40/1 for a man whose career will be defined by his Ryder Cup exploits and winning anecdotes (and rightly so) looks too interesting to ignore. Renewed confidence may help ‘The Postman’ deliver this week, and a signature win here would add to his legendary status within the game.

Danny Willett has made seven out of 13 cuts so far in the 2020 PGA tour season and recorded one top 10 finish. Now while that gives form gives some pause for thought, he did show similar stats going into Wentworth last year; he did however, go onto to win the event in 2019 and at 66/1 could be a big price.
