oom Entertainment announced Thursday that Joseph Masci has joined the company as Vice President of Creative to bolster real-money games division.

Masci, formerly of Aristocrat, Gimmie Games, and High 5, has overseen casino hits of the last two decades. In this new role, he will oversee the development of Boom’s real-money product line, with differentiated casino slot products and unique sports betting games to be offered across the industry.

“Mr. Masci has had a long and distinguished career as a creative leader in the casino gaming industry,” describes a press release on the announcement. Most recently, he acted as Principal Director of Creative at Aristocrat, and was previously Chief Creative Officer of Gimmie Games, acquired by Aristocrat in 2018, and Founding Creative Director of High 5 Games.

“Joe is a true creative,” said Stephen A. Murphy, CEO of Boom Entertainment. “His track record speaks for itself. But more than that, he is driven and brilliant, and he will do amazing things here at Boom.”

Masci’s teams have been responsible for creating popular casino offerings throughout the last two decades, including Da Vinci Diamonds, Cats, Golden Goddess, Black Widow, Green Machine, Madonna, Farmville, Sharknado, Mighty Cash series, among others.

“I’ve been following Boom’s journey for several years now, and each year I’ve been more and more impressed with what the company was building,” said Joseph Masci. “I joined Boom because of the talent and the leadership the company has, and because I’m convinced Boom can be the company that reimagines and redefines iGaming entertainment in the next decade.”

By assuming this new position in Boom, Masci joins the company’s “stacked team of real-money veterans,” including VP of Product Thom Ang, GM of Casino Content Deanna Ishikawa, and GM of Sports Betting Products Chris Fargis.

Earlier this month, Boom Entertainment announced multi-year partnerships with Rush Street Interactive (RSI) and Golden Nugget Online Gaming (GNOG), with Boom’s first wave of real-money games expected to be available for operators by the end of the year.

Due to the GNOG partnership, Boom will create content and gaming technology for the company in the US and Canada. Moreover, the online operator is making a minority investment in Boom, as well as partnering with the company for Ohio market access.

In the case of the Rush Street Interactive partnership, RSI gets market access in Louisiana, Mississippi, and New Mexico, and agrees to integrate Boom’s gaming server and licenses. Boom Entertainment is set to develop custom games for which RSI will have exclusivity rights for at least one year.
