Boosted Odds at BetOnline for Tuesday, October 13

Tuesday brings another interesting slate of action for sports bettors. The day starts with a few UEFA Nations League matches, including Germany taking on Switzerland and Spain’s match against Ukraine. We also have two more MLB playoff games, with ALCS Game 3 and NLCS Game 2 on tap for Tuesday. Tuesday night also brings a rare NFL game, with the Buffalo Bills visiting the Tennessee Titans in a game that had to be rescheduled.

You have no shortage of options out there as a bettor, of course. So, how should you be approaching the day? We’re glad you asked. BetOnline.ag has a couple of odds boosters available, so let’s see whether either of them is worth a wager.

UEFA: Spain and Germany BOTH To Win (+150)

Over the weekend, Germany snapped a four-match winless skid with a 2-1 triumph over Ukraine in UEFA Nations League action. Mattias Ginter scored a rare goal for the Germans in the first half before Leon Goretzka bagged the second in the second half to push the Germans over the top. Germany will be facing a Swiss side fresh off a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Spain.

Switzerland were beaten 2-1 by Ukraine and held to a 1-1 draw by this same German side in earlier UEFA Nations League play. While Germany have not been playing up to their par in recent months, BetOnline’s oddsmakers still believe in Joahcim Low’s side to get the job done. The Germans are -210 moneyline favorites to nab all three points today.

Spain, meanwhile, will take on Ukraine. The Spaniards got a 14th-minute goal from Mikel Oyarzabal on their way to a fairly underwhelming 1-0 win over the aforementioned Swiss side on Saturday. The goal game after Spain pressed as Switzerland tried to build out of the back. Spain still lead Group A with seven points through three games, which puts them three clear of Germany for the top spot.

Ukraine have lost three straight international matches overall by a combined score of 13-2. That includes a 7-1 trouncing at the hands of France in a friendly, as well as a 4-1 loss to Spain in Nations League action. Ukraine are clearly the most overmatched side in the group, which is why they check in as +1000 to win today’s game on the moneyline. Despite a middling showing against Switzerland, the Spaniards are -323 favorites today.

MLB: Dodgers and Rays BOTH To Win (+245)

The Dodgers were humbled in Game 1 of the NLCS last night against the Braves. The teams had played to a 1-1 draw through the first eight innings, but Atlanta got homers from Austin Riley and Ozzie Albies in the ninth to break it open. Today, Clayton Kershaw will look to get the Dodgers back into the win column. He’ll be opposed by Braves rookie right-hander Ian Anderson.

Kershaw has had his fair share of postseason struggles over the years, but his reputation as a playoff “choker” is a bit unfair.

Kershaw’s career postseason ERA is about two runs higher than his regular-season mark, but let’s not forget just two weeks ago he struck out 13 Brewers in eight dominant innings of work. Back in the 2018 NLDS, Kershaw held these Braves scoreless for eight innings in a 3-0 Dodger victory, as well.

Kershaw’s matchup against a righty-heavy Braves lineup isn’t ideal, but it’s also hard to imagine Anderson putting up a spotless start. He hasn’t allowed a run through either of his first two playoff starts against the Reds and Marlins, but the Dodgers will be his toughest task yet. Los Angeles is a -166 moneyline favorite this afternoon with Kershaw on the mound.

The Rays will look to put the Astros into an 0-3 hole tonight at Petco Park in San Diego. The Rays have gotten timely pitching through the first two games on their way to narrow victories, while the Astros have blown countless opportunities with runners on base. The pitching matchup tonight seems to favor Houston. Jose Urquidy, who pitched five shutout innings in a start against the Nationals in last year’s World Series, will face Rays left-hander Ryan Yarbrough.

This game is essentially a toss-up, with the odds slightly favoring Tampa Bay. The Rays are listed at -107 on the moneyline, with the Astros checking in at -103.

What’s The Best Bet?

Both baseball playoff series are pitting a pair of evenly-matched teams against one another. The Braves won on Monday despite being moneyline underdogs, while the Rays won once again as favorites. The Braves are even bigger underdogs today, while the Astros and Rays are essentially on even footing.

You’re getting solid baseball betting value on the Dodgers and Rays both to win today at +245. It’s hard to fathom the Dodgers falling down 0-2 in this series. While Kershaw hasn’t been spotless in the postseason, I do think he’ll show up tonight with a good outing. The Rays’ side of this bet is dicier. If the Astros can actually take advantage of the weaker pitcher in Yarbrough and cash-in their scoring opportunities, we could have a new series here.

Spain and Germany both to win their UEFA Nations League games at +145 looks like the smart way to go. Both sides are heavily-favored on the moneyline. While neither has been in the finest form of late, I still think you take the value here and run with it. Spain and Germany both to win at +150 is very appealing from a value perspective.
