The Story Behind MrBeast

In this portion of our MrBeast betting guide we’ll try to bring you closer to the persona and idea behind YouTube’s biggest philanthropist. Even though everyone and their grandmother have heard about MrBeast, slapping together a short the story behind section was pretty difficult. The man has done just so many amazing and unique things in such a short period of time. It was difficult to figure out which of them to point out and which to leave aside. Here’s what I decided to go with:

Who is MrBeast?

Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson, born May 7, 1998, is a widely popular American Youtuber from Greenville, North Carolina. MrBeast is often dubbed as YouTube’s biggest philanthropist thanks to his expensive stunts and charity work; he singlehandedly made philanthropy a YouTube trend!

I want to build other channels like beast gaming and beast reacts so I can run my main channel at a loss and grow as big as possible. And then use my main channel’s influence to one day open hundreds of homeless shelters/food banks and give away all the money.

Donaldson graduated from the Greenville Christian Academy in 2016 and dropped out of college just a couple of weeks in to focus on his YouTube career. It’s safe to say that worked out well for him.

MrBeast’s Rise to Success

Jimmy uploaded his first-ever YouTube video all the way back in February 2012. He was just 13 years old back then, but his rise to fame didn’t catch up till several years later.

Young MrBeast did his best to become a successful YouTuber. He kept riding on the waves of YouTube trends, encompassing stuff like gaming videos (Minecraft and Call of Duty gameplay), YouTube drama, and other categories, some of which revolved around messing with other YouTubers.

MrBeast’s rise to fame didn’t begin till 2016; he accumulated around 30K subscribers by the summer of 2016. His channel really popped (read became viral) in January 2017, roughly four years ago. What was the video that pushed Jimmy to YouTube greatness? It’s a brilliant one – he counted to 100,000 on camera. Yep, you’ve read that right – the man counted to 100,000 on camera and uploaded it to YouTube. It took him roughly 44 hours to complete the video – talk about sheer willpower!

But that’s not even the craziest thing about MrBeast! That’s not the craziest thing by a mile. This man is the definition of crazy, and I honestly mean that in the best possible. He developed his channel far beyond anyone thought possible. We’d need five blog pieces just to give you guys a closer look at the crazy stuff this man has done thus far.

Here are just some things that make MrBeast not just one of YouTube’s biggest sensations, but one of the craziest men the platform has ever featured:

  • He made philanthropy a YouTube trend
  • He bought a freakin island and gave it away
  • He opened a car dealership with free cars
  • He gave away millions to random people and charity
  • His #TeamTrees fundraiser planted 20 million trees

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg, guys. If you really want to know what kind of crazy sponsored stunts and giveaways MrBeast has done thus far, make sure you check out his YouTube channel and experience the brilliance with your own two eyes!

MrBeast is expanding his influence on YouTube to additional channels dedicated to different niches like gaming and philanthropy. They’re all racking in respectable subscriber counts, already topping the charts in terms of most weekly subscriptions. Considering all that, it’s safe to say MrBeast will surpass 100 million subscribers. The question is, will it happen by the end of the year?

Will MrBeast Hit 100 Million Subs by 2022?

As stated earlier, MyBookie allows you to bet on whether or not MrBeast will hit 100 million subs by December 31st this year. Yep, you can bet on yes and no! Statistically speaking, the odds aren’t in favor of YouTube’s biggest philanthropist. That said, it’s no wonder yes sits at +300 and no sits at -600.

At the time of writing this blog, MrBeast main YouTube channel has 51.8 million subscribers. The folks over at Socialblade have come up with interesting future projections on their website. According to their analytical findings, MrBeast is going to break through the 100 million subs barrier in roughly one year and four months. That’s sometime in mid-2022, way after the end time designed by the bookies.

Channels That Already Have More Than 100 Million Subscribers

It’s safe to say MrBeast will break through the 100 million subs mark at some point, though I really doubt it will happen by the end of the year.

If he does break through the magic number, he won’t be the first one. The Bollywood channel T-Series was the first one to reach 100 million subscribers back in May 2019, following a massive race with the first major YouTube sensation PewDiePie.

At the time of writing, only three channels pushed through the 100 million subs mark. In addition to T-Series and PewDiePie, Cocomelon Nursery Rhymes is the third 100M+ channel. If MrBeast hits the magical number, he probably won’t be the fourth one since there are several fiery contestants ready to make their big breakthrough.

Wrapping Things Up

Well, I guess we’re all done with our MrBeast betting blog! In the end, I guess I should give you guys some concrete betting tips huh?

Well, I’m not really sure MrBeast will reach 100 million subs by the end of the year, not at the current rate of growth at least. You see, his channel is currently hitting roughly 100K new subscribers every day, translated to roughly 700K per week and 3M per month. Even if his numbers keep on growing like this; even if their growth exceeds the projections, it’d still be a couple of millions short by the end of the year.

The only way MrBeast can reach 100M subs before New Year’s Eve is if he creates five or six massive videos that push his viewership up and get the sub-train rolling. While he did manage to do that in the past, and while I do believe he’s up to something crazy this year, I sincerely doubt it’s going to be enough to surpass 100M this year.

There you have it boys and girls, that about wraps up our piece. What are your thoughts on all this? Are you going to bet on MrBeast to reach 100 million subscribers by 2022?
