DraftKings announced Wednesday an exclusive market access partnership with the Tulalip Tribes of Washington, which will bring DraftKings retail sportsbooks to the state.

Plans are underway to open DraftKings Sportsbook locations at Tulalip Resort Casino and Quil Ceda Creek Casino, both located just 30-minutes north of Seattle in Tulalip.

Initial design plans for the DraftKings Sportsbook at Tulalip Resort Casino, pending licensure and regulatory approvals, will feature a 5,000 square-foot space with a 50-foot video wall and more than two dozen kiosks and eight ticket windows. The design of the DraftKings Sportsbook at Quil Ceda Creek Casino is still early in the planning phase but is expected to feature “state of the art technology and share the same world-class betting experience found across all DraftKings branded retail sportsbooks”, the company stated.

Once operational, Washington will mark the 19th state in which DraftKings is live with its Sportsbook product.

In an official press release, Teri Gobin, Chairwoman, Tulalip Tribes spoke about this new partnership and said: “As we get ready to open our sportsbooks, we are excited to announce our exclusive partnership with the best in the business, DraftKings. We’re ready to take our gaming experience to the next level. Like Tulalip, DraftKings is committed to excellence and, together, we’re going to give sports fans a one-of-a-kind experience. We can’t wait for our customers to share our journey as we build the newest addition to our entertainment destinations.”

Michael Kibort, Sr. Director, Retail Sportsbooks at DraftKings, added: “Today marks an exciting day for DraftKings as we are set to expand our sports betting footprint to the great Pacific Northwest. In collaboration with the Tulalip Tribes of Washington, we look forward to bringing the very best in real-money gaming experiences to a state with a passionate fanbase spanning major professional sports leagues.”

In July last year, Washington Governor Jay Inslee signed compact amendments with 15 Washington tribes, including the Tulalips, that allowed them to start taking retail sports bets as of September.
