Esports and online gambling company Esports Entertainment Group (EEG) has migrated its key iGaming properties to its proprietary Idefix platform, the operator announced on Tuesday.
The company’s SportNation.com and Vie.bet online gaming sites have now been successfully and fully migrated to the Idefix platform. Prior to the migration, both iGaming brands had been leveraging a platform from BetConstruct to deliver their iCasino and sportsbook offerings.
“The migration to Idefix is an important milestone for Esports Entertainment Group as it clearly demonstrates our company’s success in technology development and integration as well as our ability to drive operational efficiencies to enhance the profitability of our iGaming brands,” said Grant Johnson, CEO of Esports Entertainment Group.

The company first acquired the Idefix iCasino technology platform as part of the Lucky Dino transaction it completed in December 2020. Sportsbook capabilities from BetBy were integrated into Idefix in preparation for SportNation.com and Vie.bet to launch with a full online offering of casino, sports betting and esports.
This is also expected to provide options for the future to integrate sports and esports offerings into existing brands, or launch new brands with the full suite of product offerings, states a press release on the migration.
Furthermore, with the migration now completed, SportNation.com and Vie.bet customers will now have access to a full suite of payment solutions and benefit from Idefix’s full player account management system and regulatory features.
“We expect the consolidation of SportNation and Vie onto our proprietary platform will allow both brands to grow their revenue and enable us to cross-sell our offerings to more efficiently maximize player value,” added Johson. “I am extremely proud of our entire team for their hard work, and believe this migration provides a repeatable long-term roadmap for further technology rationalization.”
Earlier this week, EEG announced another milestone for the company: the group is partnering with Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City for the first sanctioned esports skill-based wagering event in the United States.

The event is set to be held in New Jersey, on January 22 and 23, 2022. The tournament will launch the company’s LANDuel platform, and is expected to be the springboard for more esports betting events and permanent installations in the future at the venue.
LANDuel is a player-vs-player wagering platform, built in Unity, which allows for skill-based wagering on third-party video games. The tournament will be a two-day 256-player in-person event, in which participants will be permitted to wager on themselves in each round of the event by checking in and creating an account on the platform.
