Euro Games Technology (EGT) has become the latest exhibitor to withdraw from its participation at ICE London 2022

The Bulgarian gaming provider announced its “tough” decision in a press release Thursday, after “difficult discussions and thorough considerations”. It cited concerning factors surrounding this event, including “health risks and unfavourable allocation of dates,” concluding that its participation at ICE would “carry a lot of risks.”

Clarion Gaming decided to postpone ICE London from its traditional February dates to April 12-14 at ExCeL, due to concerns over the Omicron coronavirus variant spread.

“The spread of Omicron is still a major issue across the UK and Europe and it is severely restricting EGT from participating in the event. Additionally, the new pre-planned dates for the event are inconvenient as they coincide with the start of the Catholic Easter holiday period that will further limit the number of participating companies and attendees,” EGT argued in the statement.

The company sees increasing logistical problems, causing traveling challenges that would make it difficult to organize its participation at ICE 2022.

Nadia Popova, Chief Revenue Officer and Vice President of Sales and Marketing at EGT, stated: “ICE London is an industry leading exhibition and one of the most important events for EGT as a European based company. We value our partnering relationship with the organisers and are looking forward to next year’s edition of the London Expo with the firm believe that ICE will once again be a bastion to celebrate the technological developments in the gaming industry.”

Last week, Merkur Gaming, NOVOMATIC, Zitro, and TCS John Huxley announced their decision to cancel their participation as exhibitors. They were followed this week by Italy-based gaming supplier Abbiati Casino Equipment and R. Franco Group.

However, Clarion Gaming on Wednesday revealed independent research results showing that 74% of industry professionals pre-registering for the event have confirmed their participation when the exhibition returns to ExCeL London on the new dates of April 12-14. ICE organizers also said they have signed-up 15 new exhibitors in less than two weeks occupying in excess of 1,000 sqm of net space.
