Sports betting is off and running, as most of you know, but here’s a fun fact: There were over 7,000 bets made from mobile apps from inside the State Farm Stadium on September 11th. There were 66,000 geolocation checks made and accounts when the Arizona Cardinals hosted the Kansas City Chiefs on September 11, according to stats provided by GeoComply.

What’s more is that this is not so unique at this point. In fact, just a week later on September 19th, there were 8,000 bets placed using mobile apps from Lincoln Financial Field when they Eagles hosted the Vikings. And that came with nearly 80,000 geolocation checks!

Other NFL games have seen similar numbers this year, with 8,000 bets placed as the Panthers played the Giants. And when the Jets hosted the Ravens at MetLife Stadium, fans in attendance posted nearly 9,000 wagers!

Anna Sainsbury , CEO of GeoComply said that the data from these games demonstrates that a full 10% of fans inside of NFL stadiums are engaging with a licensed sportsbook using their mobile apps. A clear win for the states and regulated betting. “This wealth of data is so important for lawmakers and sports leagues to determine sports betting policies in their states and at their stadiums“, she stated.

During the first two weeks of the new NFL season there were home opening games played in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. All of them have regulated sports betting.
