We’re now in week 15 of the 2020/2021 NFL season. It’s been an exciting one filled with major upsets and incredible performances. News recently broke that CBS and Nickelodeon agreed to a new broadcast deal for the Wild Card Game in January. Today, we’ll talk about some of the details of the upcoming Nickelodeon NFL game next month.

This year’s NFL season has been unlike any others in history. Every team is still pushing hard to make their way into the playoffs. At this point, it’s anyone’s guess which one will win the championship.

Let’s look at what’s going on right now!

NFL Betting Continues to Grow More Popular Around the US

The US sports betting industry has grown immensely over the past few years. It all started when the Supreme Court struck down PASPA in 2018. Since that time, 26 states around the country have approved bills to regulate sports betting.

There are some obvious reasons why this is. Most of it has to do with money. Sports betting has proven to be an extremely profitable industry for many states. That includes New Jersey, which continues to set new sports betting handle records.

The majority of sports bets being placed right now are on the NFL. Football has long-been the most popular sport in the country. Sportsbooks are now seeing a huge amount of money being wagered on each weekly game that takes place.

New Jersey, in particular, is seeing  bet on this year’s NFL season. In November, the state saw $931.6 million in sports bets. The vast majority of those wagers were placed on the NFL.

This industry isn’t slowing down. Many analysts predict that nearly every state in the country will have a regulated sports betting industry set in place sometime in the next few years. The massive revenue potential is simply too attractive for states to pass up nowadays.

We’ve seen some big changes made to the NFL this season. This week, we received more information on the upcoming game set to be broadcasted by Nickelodeon!

New Reports Offer More Information on the Nickelodeon NFL Game

CBS is one of the biggest NFL broadcast networks in the US. For years, it has showcased some of the biggest games of the year. This week, news broke that this network signed a new one-game broadcast deal with Nickelodeon.

These two companies have some fun plans. New reports claim that the partner broadcast will take place on January 10th during the Wild Card Game. It will be unlike any other seen in history, with a special slime-filled broadcast. It’s a family-oriented presentation set to feature in-game graphics and Nickelodeon commentators. CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus spoke to the media about the Nickelodeon NFL game this week.

“This is a first of its kind presentation for the NFL together with Nickelodeon, and we are very excited to create a unique telecast that will maximize the co-viewing appeal for kids and families, while maintaining the integrity of the game and its traditions,” he said. “Partnering with Nickelodeon to showcase the NFL Playoffs is a great opportunity to highlight the power, depth and reach of ViacomCBS, as we continue to unlock the true potential of our merged company with the first of many opportunities between CBS Sports and our ViacomCBS family.”

This game will also feature a unique halftime show that offers a sneak peek into Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years, a new series that focuses on Spongebob Squarepants’ younger years. This new series will debut in 2021 and is expected to be a major hit for the Nickelodeon Network.

This is a truly unique partnership between two broadcast giants. It will be interesting to see how NFL fans receive the way the game is featured. We’ll be sure to offer more updates over the next couple of weeks!
