International Game Technology (IGT) announced Thursday its PlayDigital organization has won two awards at the 2021 SBC Awards North America last week in New York. The company was named “Platform Provider of the Year” for its widespread deployment of the PlaySports platform and its position as a B2B sports betting supplier in the U.S. It was also recognized for its omnichannel wide area progressive gaming solution for Canada, Powerbucks slot, with the “Land-Based Betting & Gaming Product” award.
The company’s CrystalFlex VIP terminal for IGT’s slot games, keno and sports content won Silver in the “Industry Innovation of the Year” category as well. In addition, IGT’s President of Sports Betting, Joe Asher, was honored at the trade show with induction into the Sports Betting Hall of Fame. Asher joined IGT in October 2021, with a long trajectory in gaming, which includes more than nine year as CEO of William Hill U.S., and management positions at several racetracks including Brandywine Raceway, Dover Downs, Harrington Raceway and Foxboro Raceway.
In its inaugural year, the 2021 SBC Awards North America was held in conjunction with the 2021 SBC Summit North America and recognized the achievements of operators, affiliates and suppliers from all the major iGaming and sports betting disciplines, including payments, marketing, platform providers and data.
