Michigan-based Pokagon Band of Potawatomi announced it is opening a new recruitment center in South Bend as it begins the hiring process of hundreds of workers for the expanded Four Winds Casino and hotel that is currently under construction.

The resort will create 350 to 400 new jobs once the hotel is completed and opened in early 2023. The recruitment center is in South Bend’s Erskine Plaza. It will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Pokagon Band first announced the construction of a 23-story, 317-room hotel in September 2019. Additionally, it is adding 45,000 square feet of gaming space to the existing 140,000 square feet. The casino expansion is expected to open later this year. The facility will also include a spa, a convention area with a ballroom and meeting space, and an outdoor swimming pool.

Darcy Davis, senior vice president of human resources for Four Winds Casinos, said: “We are very excited to begin receiving applicants for positions to support the expansion of Four Winds South Bend. We have a variety of part-time and full-time positions available to support our operations.”

Davis says both part-time and full-time positions offer benefit packages, and some positions are eligible for a $500 sign on bonus. Four Winds Casino is looking for staff to work in both the gaming area and the hotel.

Part-time and full-time positions for the casino are available ranging from serving drinks, to working tables, security, and more. Rates start $15 an hour for non-tipped jobs, and $6.25 for tipped ones.

In August last year, the Four Winds Casino in South Bend and the State of Indiana officially launched a new partnership to include new, Las Vegas-style gaming options such as blackjack, craps and roulette. The casino unveiled their new live table games, which transforms it from a Class II gaming facility to a Class III one.
