Racing Tips – 8th October – ITV Racing
Here are our racing tips for today’s ITV races….
NEWMARKET
🏇 13:50 – TARDIS – 15/2
Could be just what the doctor ordered in ITV’s opener having impressed in wins at Newbury and Bath earlier this summer; didn’t take to 6f in last run at Salisbury but return to favoured trip could bring a return to form.
🏇 14:25 – PEARL GLORY – 18/5
Durable performer narrowly missed out on making it a career hat-trick of wins since debut when finishing a credible second on Group 3 debut at Salisbury last month, but booking of William Buick today suggests connections are confident of an instant bounceback on first try over 7f.
🏇 15:00 – D’BAI – 10/3
Looks the pick of the form for Charlie Appleby in an intriguing Group 2 contest after placing in four of five starts this calendar year, most notably finishing second in the Cazoo Park Stakes at Doncaster last month. Proven on good-to-soft too, which should work in his favour today.
🏇 15:35 – INSPIRAL TO BEAT CONCERT HALL
(STRAIGHT FORECAST) 🔀
Inspiral looks hard to oppose in the day’s feature race having floored the opposition on third straight career win since debut at Doncaster last time out, with her unproven credentials on softer ground the only question mark as Frankie Dettori re-takes the ride. Concert Hall could pose the strongest challenge after a cracking Group 3 run at the Curragh a fortnight ago.
🏇 16:10 – SISKANY – 10/3
Should be firmly in the frame in this company today after by no means disgracing himself in strong fields at Royal Ascot and Goodwood earlier this summer; this is his first race since being gelded but he ran well when fresh back in April at Windsor.
YORK
🏇 15:15 – BILLHILLY – 12/1 EW
One to watch at a relatively big price given consistent form this season, with five wins to his name during a progressive four-year-old campaign. Excuses can be made for low-key showing at Newcastle but he’s otherwise been something of an underrated gem since moving to Charlie Fellowes’ yard.
🏇 15:50 – FLEURMAN – 15/2
In fantastic form of late having won two of last three starts while placing in the other; this assignment is tougher but he’s in excellent hands with a yard that have won two of the last four renewals. Should go well under experienced guidance of JF Egan.
CHEPSTOW
🏇 14:10 – VIEUX LION ROUGE – 15/2
Wily stager has form in this veterans’ race having landed this contest back in 2019; old class was still on show when winning the Becher at Aintree last winter and has an encouraging habit of running well when turned out fresh. Unwise to discount.
🏇 14:45 – CAMPROND – 7/1
Could provide the value in what promises to be a competitive Grade 2 duel having finished no lower than fourth in all 2021 outings; only narrowly missed out on the win in autumn reappearance at Stratford last month.
