Week 15’s heavyweight showdown is a potential Super Bowl preview as the New Orleans Saints host the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday evening.

The Saints are coming off a surprising loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, which some critics believe that New Orleans was caught looking ahead to this week’s matchup with KC.

The Chiefs earned a hard fought victory over the Miami Dolphins and now sit on top of the AFC with three games remaining.

Will the Saints get the big win this weekend or will the Chiefs be the one marching towards the #1 seed in the Playoffs? Kickoff inside the Mercedes Benz Superdome is at 4:25PM ET.

Chiefs vs Saints NFL Game Preview

The Chiefs and the Saints have played against each other 11 times with the Chiefs holding the slight advantage at 6-5. KC has won the two most recent games including their last meeting which came in 2016 by the score of 27 to 21. That was prior to Mahomes joining the team.

  • The Kansas City Chiefs (12-1) overcame a three interception performance by Patrick Mahomes last weekend to beat the Dolphins in a tough road contest. Now, they hop over to the next state to take on one of the best teams in the NFC. Can the Chiefs extend their winning streak to nine games in a row?
  • The New Orleans Saints (10-3) stumbled in Philly as their comeback effort fell short in the 4th Now, they turn their attention to the biggest game of the season with the Chiefs coming to town. The big question this week is whether or not Drew Brees will play this weekend.

Free NFL Sports Bet and Game Prediction: Chiefs -3 (-117)

As mentioned, fans and pundits are waiting to see if future HOF quarterback Drew Brees returns to the starting lineup this weekend. In my opinion, I don’t think it matters either way.

For the Saints to beat the Chiefs on Sunday, they will need to play a perfect game on both sides of the ball or for the Chiefs to play awful. I don’t see either scenario happening with or without Drew Brees.

Brees’ return would require a masterful performance against the best team in the NFL. That’s a lot to ask of a 41 year old QB who is coming off a difficult injury where he suffered numerous broken ribs. If Hill plays again, I don’t see the Saints being able to match the scoring from the Chiefs’ offense.

Since Hill took over, the Saints have scored 24 points or less in three of the last four games including only 21 points twice. Furthermore, the one performance where they scored over 24 points came against the Broncos who didn’t have any QBs available for the game.

I don’t see New Orleans scoring more than 24 points. And, even if the Saints can slow down the game and play ball control offense, I still see the Chiefs scoring at least 28 points. The only other time the Saints played a high scoring offense like this, they lost to Green Bay 37 to 30.

In their last three road games, the Chiefs have beat the Dolphins, Buccaneers, and Raiders. Over that stretch, they have scored at least 27 points. In all three games, they won by more than a FG.

This weekend, I expect the Chiefs to come out firing as they put these Saints’ defenders to the test. Look for Mahomes to bounce back from last week’s down performance and for this juggernaut offense to pull away in the second half as they win by the score of 28 to 24.
