indred Group on Wednesday shared the revenue derived from harmful gambling as a part of their “Journey towards zero” project.

The company intends to reach 0% of revenue from harmful gambling by the end of 2023. In the interest of that goal, Kindred has decided to be transparent with data and raise awareness on the course of action to prevent high-risk gambling.

For the second quarter of 2021, the share of revenue from harmful gambling increased to 4.3%, up from 3.9% in the first quarter, and the same numbers reported for the final quarter of 2020.

However, according to the latest survey, the improvement effect after interventions has been the largest so far, accounting for 76.9%, compared to the first quarter 2021 (76.6%) and the fourth quarter 2020 (75.7%).

Henrik Tjärnström, CEO of Kindred Group, spoke in a press release about these results. “During the past quarter we have continued to see a positive and constructive dialogue across the industry in terms of achieving a more sustainable gambling market”, he pointed out. “Ensuring that the discussion continues to take place, and that it is fact-based, is vital if we are to achieve the ambition we have set”.

Tjärnström addressed the increase in revenue this quarter, and assured that “is an expected fluctuation”.

“We remain dedicated and focused on our journey towards zero”, he concluded.
