Not long ago, Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar were both competing at a high-level in the sport of mixed martial arts. Many fans have been debating how a fight between them would play out for years. Recently, the push to see Lashley vs. Lesnar in MMA has been intensifying.

Bobby Lashley seems to feel this is a fight that can be made. He is also expressing interest in facing off with Lesnar inside the wrestling ring. Today, we’ll talk about what could lead to this fight coming together.

Let’s get into it!

Looking Back the MMA Careers of Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar

MMA and professional wrestling are two entirely different sports. One is a true combat sport in every sense. The other focuses more on entertainment. Both require real athletics, however, and we’ve seen crossovers between the two sports over the years.

Back in February of 2008, something unusual happened. Brock Lesnar transitioned as one of the most popular WWE wrestlers on the planet into the UFC’s heavyweight division. It was a huge risk for him and many felt he’d struggle to find any success. Most online sportsbooks had him as a massive underdog against Frank Mir in his UFC debut.

Lesnar lost his first fight in the UFC, yet went on to become the promotion’s champion just 10 months later. He defended his title twice and was the biggest draw in MMA during his run in the sport.

Bobby Lashley also made his mixed martial arts debut in 2008. Unlike Lesnar, however, he never competed in the UFC. Lashley found a home in Strikeforce and eventually Bellator. He was an incredible athlete and ended his MMA career with a record of 15-2.

These two fighters seem to have retired from combat sports for good. As many know, however, MMA retirements are often short-lived. There are many pushing to see a fight between these former WWE stars inside the MMA cage.

Anything is possible in the world of mixed martial arts. Let’s take a look at why more are now interested in seeing this fight.

Here’s What Could Lead to Lashley vs. Lesnar in MMA

Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar have been mostly staying out of the headlines since their retirement from MMA. There have been some rumors of them making returns to the sport. For one reason or another, that has not taken place.

Both of these men have stayed in fantastic shape, though. For that reason, many fans have been questioning whether or not they will ever return to the fight game. This week, Lashley took part in an interview with TMZ and revealed he would like to challenge Lesnar in either MMA or wrestling.

“I’m willing to wrestle, I’m willing to do 100-meter dash, I don’t care. I love those big matchups! Brock is one of the biggest thing across the sports industry, sports world across the board,” Lashley said. “So if I can have an opportunity to fight Brock or wrestle Brock or do anything against Brock, I’m 100% in and I will be ready. That’s all I gotta say about that!”

Obviously, this was enough to get many fans excited. Brock Lesnar isn’t one to back down from a challenge. For that reason, it’s possible that we could see Lashley vs. Lesnar in MMA taking place at some point in the future.

These men would certainly need to make it worth the effort. Perhaps a more realistic scenario is for them to compete against each other in the WWE. Vince McMahon would likely have no hesitation booking that matchup.

It will be interesting to see how Brock Lesnar responds to this recent challenge. Stay tuned for updates over the next few weeks!

Miocic vs. Ngannou 2 is Less Than Two Weeks Away

For a time, Brock Lesnar was thought of as the best heavyweight in MMA. He used his strength and wrestling skills to dominate many of the men he faced off against. Eventually, however, his lack of skills and experience in the fight game caught up with him.

Stipe Miocic now holds the title of the greatest heavyweight mixed martial artist on the planet. He’s beaten just about everyone in the division and most recently defeated Daniel Cormier in their legendary trilogy. On March 27, he’ll step back into the cage once more to take on the scariest mixed martial artist to ever compete.

Francis Ngannou is riding a four-fight win streak heading into this bout. All of those wins have come via knockout before the two-minute mark. He’s a striker unlike we’ve ever seen and seems to feel he will defeat Miocic in this rematch. BetOnline is now offering some incredible odds on this upcoming bout.

Stipe Miocic dominated Ngannou in their first bout, but enters the rematch as the +109 underdog. It’s unusual when considering his past achievements. If he can land takedowns on Francis like he did in the first bout, he’ll walk away as the champion once again.

Ngannou is a fighter that can win at any moment. His power gives him an advantage over just about every single opponent that he challenges. That seems to be why he comes into this fight as the -129 favorite.
