Not long ago, news broke that Floyd Mayweather had agreed to fight Logan Paul on February 20 in a massive exhibition bout. It was a shock announcement, as Floyd is considered one of the best boxers of all-time and Paul is 0-2 inside the ring. This week, we received another Mayweather vs. Paul update that has left some fans confused.

The sport of boxing has changed over the past few years. We’ve seen an increase in these types of celebrity-style matchups recently. Today, we’ll discuss some of the new details surrounding this bout.

Here’s what we know!

Both Paul Brothers Now Have Fights Lined Up This Year

Logan and Jake Paul are two of the most popular social media stars on the planet. They’ve dabbled in several different industries over the years yet remain committed to their YouTube content. Back in 2018, both of these men decided to enter into the combat sports world.

It began as an amateur event featuring an all-YouTuber cast. The event ended up being a major success and both Paul brothers vowed to compete again. Not long after, they both announced their move into the professional ring.

Logan took on KSI in his first professional fight, losing via split decision. Jake competed against the YouTuber known as AnEsonGib and picked up a first-round TKO. Jake fought again this past November and earned another KO win.

Logan and Jake now have fights lined up for 2021. As we already mentioned, Logan Paul is scheduled to take on Floyd Mayweather. News broke this week that Jake Paul will be taking on former MMA champion Ben Askren in a fight this April.

Many combat sports athletes are taking issue with the Pauls making the move into the sport of boxing. These men seem to feel they are true stars in the combat sports world. People will tune into their fights simply to see them lose.

It now seems that more issues are arising with the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul. Here’s a look at how this fight is coming together.

We’ve Just Received Another Mayweather vs. Paul Fight Update

Floyd Mayweather competed in his final professional boxing fight back in August of 2017. This came against MMA superstar Conor McGregor. It was a massive Pay-Per-View success and Floyd ended up winning via 10th-round TKO.

This fight hasn’t proven to be the last of Floyd’s career. He competed in an exhibition bout just one year later. It seems he’s staying in good shape and has continued to tell the media he is open to more exhibitions if the money is right.

That’s why it wasn’t a massive surprise when news broke that Floyd was taking on Logan Paul this year. Paul has a massive following and a fight between these men is expected to be huge. It was originally scheduled to take place on February 20.

It appears some issues have come up, though. A Mayweather vs. Paul fight update came out this week that seems to indicate this bout is being pushed back. Logan Paul addressed these rumors during an episode of his podcast a few days ago.

“I’ve been a little upset with the narrative I’m seeing online, a little f–king upset, so I’ll clear this up. It’s just stupid. A guy who we had come to test to be a strength and conditioning coach leaked information about the fight. As soon as this got out, he said that the fight was being pushed [back], I said, ‘F–k we’ve had a leak from inside our camp, no one else was supposed to know that,’” Logan said. “There a lot of people involved and you’ve only got one shot at it so you need to get it absolutely 1,000 percent right. We’re just making sure we’re doing that. But yeah, I’m still going to beat the s–t out of Floyd Mayweather. Or, maybe he’s going to beat the s–t out of me, who knows? The point is it’s still going to happen.”

Logan seems to have confirmed that this fight is indeed being pushed back. He did not reveal a new date for this fight, though. It’s possible that this fight is only being postponed by a few weeks. We’ll be sure to offer updates on this bout as soon as more information comes out.

New Boxing Odds Are Becoming Available Right Now

When the fight between Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather first came out, a huge number of fans began flocking to different online sportsbooks to place their bets. Mayweather came in as the massive favorite. Paul, obviously, was listed as the huge underdog.

Due to scheduling concerns, the odds for this fight have been removed online. They are likely to become available again as soon as this bout is announced again. In the meantime, there are a huge number of other boxing odds becoming available through BetOnline.

Many are now choosing to bet on the aforementioned bout between Jake Paul and Ben Askren. These men have been verbally sparring on social media for years. It’s incredible to see where the odds for this matchup stand.

Jake Paul comes into this fight as the -220 favorite. He has some experience in the boxing ring and feels confident he will earn a win over Askren. Many are skeptical of his skills, though, and are confused as to why Jake comes in as the favorite in this bout.

Ben Askren has never been known as a striker. He found success in MMA using his elite wrestling skills. This could explain why he comes in as the +180 underdog. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him push Jake into the later rounds and earn a stoppage.
