After several rumors that Enjoy had decided to sell its casino in Punta del Este, as reported by Yogonet, the company denies being in a sale process.

The company, owned by Euroamerica and Penta, in a conversation with the newspaper Ámbito Financiero of Argentina, commented that “in reality, there is no formal sale process”, assuring that this information was “a press rumor. There is nothing official about Enjoy looking for a buyer.”

Enjoy Mendoza Casino

Enjoy divested its business in Mendoza in 2022, while the Punta del Este unit was considered a ‘business to rescue’ due to its potential profitability. According to Enjoy, the focus “is on resuming efficiency and value generation projects that contribute to its strategic objectives, such as the automation of processes and the implementation of technologies to directly boost revenue generation”.

The hotel and casino in Punta del Este record a considerable level of income for the company, reaching the historical record of $24 million EBITDA in 2022. This leaves the Uruguayan establishment as one of the Chilean company’s best assets, so it came to be assumed that they would try to recover part of what they invested between 2013 when they bought 45% of the property for $139 million; and 2017, when they bought the rest for $189 million.

Enjoy Punta del Este

After the failed merger with Dreams in Chile, some media indicated that Enjoy Punta del Este would be the best option to acquire capital, but the company insists that, for the time being, this will not be the case.
