The Mississippi Gaming & Hospitality Association (MGHA) announced it will hold its Southern Gaming Summit (SGS) May 3 through May 6, 2022, at MGM’s Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi.
Bill Miller, president and CEO of the American Gaming Association, will be the keynote speaker at the event, which will begin with a golf tournament at MGM’s Fallen Oak Golf Course on Tuesday, May 3, followed by a welcome reception on the event deck at the Beau Rivage pool area overlooking the Gulf Coast.
On Bill Miller’s speech, MGHA’s executive director, Larry Gregory, spoke and said: “Bill Miller has unique knowledge about our gaming industry and his presentation is sure to captivate attendees. We look forward to hearing about his many experiences in the gaming industry.”
On the second day of the event, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a six-session conference program. Sessions for registered attendees on May 4-5 include Regulatory Updates, iGaming and Sports Betting, Being a Responsible Operator in 2022, Doing Business as a Third Party Vendor, and Tribal Sports Betting: Questions, Rules and Models, along with the Operator & GM Discussion.
Sessions will be held in the convention area on the second floor of the Beau Rivage.
This year’s event will also have “A Taste of Coastal Mississippi”, sponsored by Coastal Mississippi, the Gulf Coast’s visitor and tourism bureau. This event is set for May 4.
May 5 will be the Mississippi Gaming Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where gaming-industry leaders will be honored during an evening gala.
This year’s inductees are Allan B. Solomon (Foundation Gaming and Entertainment), Virginia McDowell (Entain), Craig H. Nielsen (Ameristar Casinos, Craig H. Nielsen Foundation), Kagemasa Kozuki (Konami), John Hairston (Hancock Whitney Corporation, former member and chairman of the Mississippi Gaming Commission).
