Sports technology company Sportradar announced Thursday that the Ohio Casino Control Commission has granted its US betting subsidiary, Sportradar Solutions LLC, a Sports Gaming Supplier License for the Buckeye State. Legal sports betting will be available in the state on January 1, 2023.

Sportradar now holds 41 licenses, or equivalent, in North America across US states, territories, tribes, and Canada. The company offers its services to a wide range of clients operating within these jurisdictions, “advancing transparency and integrity, and delivering accurate sports data to sanctioned sports betting and gaming agencies,” Sportradar says.

Sports betting is set to launch in Ohio on January 1, 2023. Gov. Mike DeWine signed the legislation legalizing the market in December 2021. The launch expands Sportradar’s commitment to the US market, where the company posted a revenue increase of 61% year-over-year in Q3, achieving first-time profitability in the region.

We are proud of the continuous success of our U.S. operations. We managed to generate a U.S. profit for the first time in the third quarter, displaying solid operational leverage in the business model,” said last month Carsten Koerl, Chief Executive Officer of Sportradar.

Just last month, Sportradar was named the Data Service Provider of the Year at the 2022 edition of Gambling.com Group‘s American Gambling Awards. The global company is an official partner of numerous leagues and federations, including the NBA, NHL, MLB, NASCAR, UEFA, FIFA, ICC, and ITF, covering more than 890,000 events each year across 92 sports. Sportradar handles up to 30 million odds changes per minute, covering 40 languages, with 99.9% proven accuracy.
