Super Bowl Week in Las Vegas!

Are you ready for some football? It’s Super Bowl week Vegas, as the Chiefs and 49ers square off in Super Bowl LVIII, and we’ve got information on the major parties and events leading up to the big game! Plus, information on the pending strike and road closures in Sin City!

It’s Super Bowl week in Sin City as nearly half a million people are expected to descend on Las Vegas this week for the Super Bowl. This while there’s talk that hospitality and culinary workers, along with bus drivers, would all walk off their job. So the question on everyone’s mind is: Will there be a strike or not? I’m headed to London for a gaming conference next week. But when I shot this video over the weekend, almost all of the Las Vegas Resorts being threatened by this strike had settled with the Union. Almost all…

At the time of filming this video there were just three casinos left that were in talks with the Union to try to avoid a strike. However, by the time this video is published it might be a non-issue. Everything may be all worked out. But if it’s not, these are the only three Resorts that’ll be affected by a strike. Meanwhile, Las Vegas bus drivers also reached a deal and avoided a work stoppage… which means, my friends, it will be easier to find a ride in Las Vegas, but not necessarily easier to get around town. More on that in just a moment.

Up first, let’s talk about all these parties and special events that are going down Super Bowl week. Like CBS Sports setting up their broadcast location in front of the Bellagio Fountains. Then on Wednesday, February 7th the Super Bowl experience will take over at Mandalay Bay’s South Convention Center. Starting February 8th the week long Excessive Celebration Bowl Bash will begin down on Fremont Street. Then on Thursday the 9th, Shaq’s Funhouse will open at  the XS Nightclub inside the Wynn with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.

The following night , XS Nightclub will host the Sports Illustrated Party presented by Captain Morgan. February 10th is also the day for the Super Bowl Breakfast event taking place at Caesar’s Palace. And let’s not forget about all those parties at several casinos all up and down the Strip, as well as in downtown Vegas. Plus, with all these special events taking place, don’t forget you can actually bet on the game in person or online!

And finally this Super Bowl week, even with the strikes averted, getting around Las Vegas during the week of the Super Bowl may pose some challenges due to  road closures, of all things. Several streets around the city are either closed or soon will be closed, including Luxor Drive, Russell Avenue, and other roads near Allegiance Stadium. There will also be restricted traffic on Dean Martin Drive, Alibaba Lane, and around Tropicana Avenue. You can find the full list of road closures on the Clark County website.
