Brooklyn Nets (30-34)

  • Over 2.5 (+130)
  • Under 2.5 (-160)

The Nets will be without Wilson Chandler, Spencer Dinwiddie, DeAndre Jordan, and Taurean Prince for the restart. These absences take an already undermanned roster and makes it even more embarrassing. The Nets signed former players like Jamal Crawford just to field a roster and play games.

Currently, Brooklyn sits in the 7th spot of the Eastern Conference, just a half-game ahead of Orlando. However, they have a tough schedule that does them no favors.

The only realistic shot they have at winning a game is against Washing in their second outing. The Nets will lose to Orlando twice, the Bucks, Celtics, Kings, Clippers and Portland. They might get lucky and split with Orlando. At best, they go 2-6. Most likely, they go 1-7.

The Nets are lucky that the Washington Wizards are worse off and won’t overtake them for the 8th and final Playoff spot

I do see Brooklyn and Washington playing for the 8th seed in a play-in game due to the NBA stating that if the 8th and 9th seeds are within four games of each other then they will have a game for the final Playoff spot.

With that said, take the Under 2.5 wins for this one at NBA betting sites even though there’s no value with this option.

Brooklyn Nets –Under 2.5 Wins (-160)

Dallas Mavericks (40-27)

  • Over 4.5 (-110)
  • Under 4.5 (-120)

The Mavericks offense is 3rd in the league for scoring as they average 116.4 ppg. This hiatus has allowed many of their key contributors to get healthy including their top two stars Luka Doncic and Kristap Porzingis.

Currently, the Mavericks are 7th overall in the Western Conference and just 1.5 games back of the 5th seeded OKC Thunder. They’re also just 2.5 games back of the 4th seeded Utah Jazz who they play once.

The Mavericks brass have come out and stated that their goal is to move up as high as possible in the seeding.

For Dallas, they should easily handle the Suns twice, Kings and Blazers to give them four wins. That puts them right at the O/U mark of 4.5 wins.

From there, Dallas will have to win one of the four games against: Houston, Clippers, Bucks and Jazz.

Dallas is 1-1 against Houston and they play against each other in the first game of the seeing round. That game can go either way. They’ve gone winless against the Clippers, Bucks and Jazz this season. Of those three teams, I believe Utah is the one that Dallas can win.

The Jazz will be without one of their top players in Bojan Bogdanovic who had season ending surgery on his wrist. That’s a big blow to a Utah team that is a middle of the pack in scoring.

Dallas should go at least 5-3 inside the bubble, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up 6-2 by also beating the Rockets. Either way, their talent and schedule should put us Over 4.5 wins.

Dallas Mavericks –Over 4.5 Wins (-110)

Memphis Grizzlies (32-33)

  • Over 3.5 (+100)
  • Under 3.5 (-130)

There are four teams gunning for the Memphis Grizzlies as they sit in the highly coveted 8th spot heading into the seeding games.

I’m a bit surprised at Memphis’ win total being this low (3.5 wins). This is a team that’s exceeded all expectations for the 2019-20 season. They get all of their key players back fully healthy and have plenty of young talent to compete with any team in the Western Conference.

Some people have made a big deal out of Memphis not getting Justice Winslow on the floor. However, he’s never played for them this season after the Griz acquired him at the trade deadline. So, it won’t affect them at all.

Memphis will come out and win their first two games by beating Portland and the Spurs. I also expect them to lose to the Pelicans, Raptors and Celtics.

So, that leaves us with three games where Memphis will need to find two wins to cover this Over. I see that coming by beating the Jazz and the Bucks. Before you flip out about the Bucks prediction, keep in mind that this game is the final contest of the seeding round.

The Bucks have a 6.5 game lead over the Raptors and are in no danger of losing the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference. So, there’s no real need for them to play their starters long or at all in the final games. That should benefit Memphis.

I’m taking the Over in this NBA basketball prop bet. I believe Memphis is underrated and should go at least 4-4 in these next eight games.

Memphis Grizzlies –Over 3.5 Wins (+100)

New Orleans Pelicans (28-36)

  • Over 4.5 (-140)
  • Under 4.5 (+110)

The Pelicans are 10th in the Western Conference, 3 ½ games back of the Grizzlies. They’re the odds on favorite to be in a play-in game against Memphis as they have a very winnable seeding schedule.

The Pelicans toughest games are against the Clippers, Jazz and Grizzlies. I see them going at least 1-2 in these three games.

Their other five games are against the Kings twice, Wizards, Spurs and Magic. They should go at least 4-1 in these five games. I believe they will split with the Kings.

Ultimately, with a healthy Zion and supporting cast, this team is scary. Take the Over 4.5 wins here as New Orleans could end up being the 8th seed for the Playoffs by time it’s all said and done.

New Orleans Pelicans –Over 4.5 Wins (-140)

Sacramento Kings (28-36)

  • Over 3.5 (-110)
  • Under 3.5 (-120)

The Kings have a great young nucleus like the Pelicans and Grizzlies do. However, they’re definitely being overlooked by oddsmakers and pundits.

Like Portland and New Orleans, the Kings suffered this season from injuries to their star players for long stretches at a time. And once again, they will be without Marvin Bagley who sprained his foot in the bubble during practice.

But, the Kings do get back Holmes and will see other players at full health like Fox and Barnes. The team had four players test positive for covid, which was the most of any squad. All four of these players will be ready for the seeding games.

The Kings have a manageable schedule which should produce wins over the Spurs, Magic and Nets. I have a hard time seeing them beating Dallas and Houston. That puts them at 3-2 in those five contests.

So, we need the Kings to win just one of these three games: two against New Orleans and one against the Lakers. I believe the Kings will split with New Orleans, but I can also see them beating the Lakers.

The reasoning behind why I think Memphis can beat the Bucks, is the same for the Kings and Lakers. They are the last game of the seeding round. The Lakers have a 5.5 game lead over the Clippers and should easily secure the top spot in the Western Conference.

If they don’t play star players James and Davis much in the 8th and final game of the seeding round then the Kings have a chance at winning.

With that said, I expect the Kings to be at least 4-4. At best, they will go 5-3. Either way, I’m taking the Over.

Sacramento Kings –Over 3.5 Wins (-110)

San Antonio Spurs (27-36)

  • Over 2.5 (-130)
  • Under 2.5 (+100)

The Spurs will be without their top player LaMarcus Aldridge and their schedule isn’t favorable at all. Sitting 12th in the standings, the Spurs will need a miracle to make the Playoffs. All eight games are against teams fighting for a Playoff spot or jockeying for seeding position.

The Spurs play the Kings, Grizzlies, Sixers, Nuggets, Pelicans, Rockets and Jazz twice. Please, tell me where they will get three wins. I don’t see it at all. At best, they will get two wins, which comes in below the 2.5 Over/Under.

In reality, they will probably start off 0-4 and just pack it in after that. Take the Under and the nice return of even money on this wager.

San Antonio Spurs (27-36) –Under 2.5 Wins (+100)
