On Sunday, April 18th, NASCAR’s Cup Series heads to Richmond Raceway for the Toyota Owners 400 which is the 9th race on the season.
NASCAR betting sites have released a field of prop bets for this Richmond race. Let’s take a look at some of the popular Toyota Owners 400 prop bets and make some checkered flag winning predictions.
The following prop bets are courtesy of Bovada and DraftKings.
Toyota Owners 400 Driver Matchups
In order to win these prop bets, you must pick which driver that you think will finish higher at Richmond on Sunday:
Joey Logano vs Chase Elliott
Not only is Logano beating Elliott on the season in regards to wins, Top 5s, Top 10s and position in the standings, but he’s also beating Chase in head to head action at Richmond Raceway.

Elliott has just 10 starts at Richmond with zero wins, three Top 5s, four Top 10s and a 12.0 average finish.
If we’re just to compare Logano’s last 10 races at this track with Elliott’s 10 career starts, the balance heavily leans in favor of the #22 car. In the last 10 Richmond races, Logano has one win, six Top 5s, and eight Top 10s.
Logano finished 2nd in this race in 2019 and 3rd in the fall Richmond race last year. Elliott was 15th in the 2019 spring Richmond race and 5th in last year’s fall race.
I expect Logano to be a Top 5 car with a shot at the checkered flag. Elliott will be a Top 10 car with a Top 5 ceiling.

Toyota Owners 400 Car Prop Bets
Car Number of Race Winner
- Even (-110)
- Odd (-120)
For this prop bet, I really like the Odd option because we get Larson (5), Elliott (9), Hamlin (11) and Truex Jr. (19). Three of these drivers are in my Top 5 for this race including Denny Hamlin who I believe will win the race. Truex will start on the pole as well.
Car Number of Race Winner –Odd (-120)
Car Number of Race Winner
- Over 11.5 (-115)
- Under 11.5 (-115)
This prop bet is harder than the previous ones. For the Under, we have Keselowski, Harvick, Larson, Elliott, and Hamlin. For the Over, we have Blaney, Busch, Truex and Logano. It’s pretty even regarding talent and previous winners.
With that said, I am leaning towards the Over for this prop bet. I think it’s a good opportunity to hedge our bets. Since I’m taking Hamlin to win the race, and he’s Under 11.5, I am going with the Over in order to also get Truex and Logano. Both drivers will finish in the Top 5.
Car Number of Race Winner –Over 11.5 (-115)
Manufacturer of Race Winner
- Toyota (+155)
- Ford (+175)
- Chevrolet (+195)
Toyota has won three of the last four Toyota Owners 400 races including two in a row. Ford won this race in 2017 and has 15 victories all-time. Chevy has 21 all-time wins in this race, but hasn’t won since 2015 and only has two wins since 2009.

We could hedge out bets here, but I like the Toyota betting option too much to pass up. Three of my Top 5 drivers drive Toyotas: Hamlin, Busch and Truex.
Furthermore, Toyota has won seven times since 2009.
Manufacturer of Race Winner –Over 11.5 (-115)
Team of Race Winner
- Joe Gibbs Racing (+160)
- Team Penske (+270)
- Hendrick Motor Sports (+280)
- Stewart-Haas Racing (+800)
- Any Other Team (+1800)
- Richard Childress racing (+2500)
- Chip Ganassi Racing (+3000)
- Roush Fenway Racing (+6600)
- JTG Daughtery Racing (+8000)
Joe Gibbs Racing is the clear betting favorite for this prop bet. They have won this race nine times since 2001 including the last two in a row. JGR driver Martin Truex Jr. is the odds on favorite to win this weekend and he starts on the pole.
The only other team I would even consider for this wager is Team Penske. Logano won this race in 2017 and Keselowski won the fall Richmond race last year.
With that said, I am sticking with Joe Gibbs Racing as three of their four drivers are in my Top 5 for this weekend including my predicted race winner Denny Hamlin.

Other Toyota Owners 400 Prop Bets
Grid Position of Race Winner
- Over 5.5 (-140)
- Under 5.5 (+105)
Since there’s no qualifying for the Toyota Owners 400 this weekend, NASCAR used a mathematical formula to determine the starting lineup. The following is the starting grid for the Top 20 positions:
- Martin Truex Jr.
- Denny Hamlin
- Chase Elliott
- William Byron
- Joey Logano
- Kyle Larson
- Ryan Blaney
- Christopher Bell
- Kevin Harvick
- Kyle Busch
- Austin Dillon
- Chris Buescher
- Tyler Reddick
- Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
- Bubba Wallace
- Matt DiBenedetto
- Kurt Busch
- Ross Chastain
- Ryan Newman
- Brad Keselowski
It might be crazy, but I am going with the Under 5.5 which means I believe the race winner will come from one of the five drivers starting in the Top 5.
Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin will start on the front row. Hendrick Motorsports teammates Chase Elliott and William Byron will start in row two. Behind them is Joey Logano who starts 5th.
Truex, Logano and Hamlin are my Top 3 drivers for this weekend’s race. I picked Hamlin to win, but I can easily see Logano or Truex pulling out the victory.
Grid Position of Race Winner –Under 5.5 (+105)
