At times it looked like the Green Jacket would be kept in storage this year, but the biggest prize in world golf will finally get its annual airing this November as the delayed 2020 US Masters takes place at Augusta.

2020 Masters Betting Predictions

It’s going to be a Masters like no other, so there could be a huge amount of value to be had when analysing worthy contenders in the 2020 US Masters betting market – one of the reasons we’re paying seven places on this year’s tournament.

With so many unknowns heading into this year’s tournament, here are just a few things to keep in mind when picking out a potential winner.

The Venue: Augusta National

The azaleas won’t be in full bloom at golf’s most prestigious course this year as the Masters moves to the autumn for the first time in the event’s history – and that’s not the only ingredient that will be missing in Georgia.

With spectators notably absent, it’s set to be an oddly eerie playing experience for competitors. With conditions completely different to March, this course won’t play like a usual Masters either – making golf predictions for the tournament even more of a guessing game than usual.

2020 Masters Weather

While the weather in Augusta is hardly bracing even in mid-November, it will be significantly cooler than most old hands in this Masters field will be used to, and given the time of year, the wind could also have its part to play here.

Conditions will be far softer than in the spring, which suggests the course will play long, and that could see big hitters like Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson make headway.

US Masters Betting: Early Favourites to take the 2020 Green Jacket

Bryson DeChambeau – 41/5 – on the crest of a wave after winning the US Open; he’s not the most popular of players on the circuit but has the driving distance and ruthless streak to succeed here.

Jon Rahm – 43/4 – the Spaniard is still waiting for his own Major breakthrough but has been a consistent performer this term and recently T2 at the Zozo Championship.

Justin Thomas – 45/4 – 2017 PGA Championship winner also posted strong form at the Zozo and has 10 Top 10 finishes to his name this year.

Rory McIlroy – 23/2 – the Northern Irishman would love to end his lean spell in Majors by winning a first Green Jacket; he might just benefit from there being less noise around compared to the usual annual Masters build-up.

Dustin Johnson – 49/4 – a model of consistency in the majority of majors he’s played since 2018, finishing outside the top six just twice. No reason to suggest he won’t be bang in the mix again.

Xander Schauffele – 57/4 – the 27-year-old’s time can’t be too far away after a fifth-place finish in the US Open and a notable second at the CJ Cup. Can he finally convert his huge potential into championship-winning form?
