  • Marvin Vettori and Robert Whittaker have been slated to compete on June 11 in Singapore.
  • Rumors are now surfacing that Robert Whittaker has been forced out of this fight.
  • The UFC may now be interested in booking Vettori vs. Till later this year.

The upcoming middleweight contender fight between Marvin Vettori and Robert Whittaker might be in jeopardy. Rumors are beginning to surface that Robert has been forced out of this bout due to injury. If true, the UFC may choose to book Vettori vs. Till as a replacement.

Darren Till remains one of the most popular fighters in the UFC. A fight against Marvin Vettori would likely draw in major interest from fans.

Here’s what you need to know about this matchup.

Vettori vs. Till Could Come Together This June

Marvin Vettori’s unlikely streak seems to be continuing. Vettori was booked into a matchup against Robert Whittaker on June 11 in what could determine the next challenger for the middleweight title. Unfortunately, it seems this fight may not come together.

Vettori took to Twitter this week, indicating that Whittaker has been forced out of this fight. He does not appear ready to sit on the sidelines while Robert is ready again. Instead, he openly challenged Darren Till and Khamzat Chimaev, two men with massive followings behind them.

We’re back at this.

I think I’m the only 185er that can say that has never pulled out of a fight but anyway smash boys I’ll get you back to back lets do it I’m willing to die just show up @KChimaev @darrentill2 @Mickmaynard2 @AliAbdelaziz00 @danawhite

Khamzat Chimaev is fighting at 170 pounds right now and is coming off a thrilling war with Gilbert Burns. It seems unlikely that the UFC would be interested in booking Khamzat against a top contender at 185 pounds. Vettori vs. Till, however, is a fight that could certainly come together this year.

Darren Till has not fought since a submission loss to Derek Brunson last year. He has been training hard as of late and has told the media he plans to compete this summer. There is reason to believe that he would be willing to compete against a top contender at middleweight in June.

The middleweight division is not slowing down. Israel Adesanya appears to have his next challenger set. Now is the perfect time to look at the odds for the next title fight in the middleweight division.

Odds on Adesanya vs. Cannonier are Now Available Online

The UFC’s middleweight division is in a very interesting position. Since 2019, Israel Adesanya has ruled over this weight class as the champion. He has already earned multiple wins over the best fighters at 185 pounds and continues pushing to earn more title defenses.

Israel Adesanya is expected to face off against Jared Cannonier in his next title defense this summer. An official date for this bout has not yet been revealed. Rumors point to it taking place on July 2 over International Fight Week in Las Vegas.

BetOnline, one of the best online sportsbooks, is already offering odds on this bout.

Israel Adesanya is coming into this bout as the -300 favorite. He is perhaps the best striker in all of MMA and has proven extremely difficult to take down. Israel is the king at 185 pounds and continues to get better with every single fight he takes.

Jared Cannonier is finally getting his shot at a world title. He is a phenomenal striker with extremely powerful punches and kicks. For this bout, Jared is coming in as the +250 underdog and needs to have the performance of a lifetime to earn the victory.

This is a massive fight for the middleweight division. It now appears that Vettori vs. Till could determine the next man to fight against the winner of this bout. We’ll be sure to provide updates on the entire situation at 185 pounds over the next few weeks.
