On May 17, the Ho Chi Minh City (formerly, and still commonly, known as Saigon) People’s Committee held a meeting where a proposal seeking to allow casinos in hotels of five-star rating and above, and major tourist destinations, was submitted, in an attempt to boost the economy and promote tourism investments. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) announced on May 18 the approval of three consent agreements, which applied fines to two casinos and one provider of gaming services, totaling $35,500 for self-exclusion violations and unlicensed activities.  The fined companies include Wind Creek Bethlehem, operator of Wind Creek Casino Bethlehem in Northampton County, which will have to pay $20,000 for a self-exclusion violation. Minnesota Senate Finance Committee voted 5-4 on Thursday to advance a proposal that would allow tribal casinos and the state’s two horse racing tracks to offer sports betting on mobile devices and in-person, as well as allow people to bet on the Oscars and other arts awards programs.
