The U.S. Congress has passed the Catawba Indian Nation Lands bill, which affirms the tribe’s territory extends to North Carolina, and clarifies the nation is subject to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) in said lands.  The news was highly expected by the Catawbas, which opened the Catawba Two Kings casino in Kings Mountain, Cleveland County, in a temporary facility in July, while awaiting federal approval. Pennsylvania has posted a new record in overall gaming revenue in November, the PA Gaming Control Board reported. The record month was highlighted by sports wagering revenue 70% above the previous monthly high. The figures show total gaming and fantasy contests revenue generated in the state during the month was a record $432 million, which represents an increase of 52% compared to the revenue generated in the same month last year. The New Jersey Legislature passed on Monday the new casino PILOT bill, which seeks to give tax relief to Atlantic City’s casinos. The legislation is intended to help venues recover from the pandemic by reducing increases in payments to state that would take effect if the bill is not passed, as it excludes both iGaming and sports wagering from calculations on how much casinos must pay in lieu of taxes. The St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin and Gov. Tony Evers on Monday signed a new compact amendment, which will permit event wagering at St. Croix casinos in the state.  The gambling expansion allows casinos and affiliate locations in Wisconsin to offer event wagering on sports and non-sports. The eight Louisiana casinos that launched sports betting operations in November raked in more than $5.6 million in revenue on more than $27 million in wagers, according to the latest revenue data from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board. About $570,000 in taxes were paid on those profits.
