The EU Parliament has passed a landmark vote to support esports and video gaming. The legislative body approved a resolution recognizing the cultural and economic value of both sectors, through which the members of the European Parliament (MEPs) will be tasked with developing a long-term regulatory and investment strategy to promote the industry in Europe. The resolution also calls for safeguarding esports from match-fixing and illegal gambling. The resolution passed last Thursday after some thirty minutes of debate. On Tuesday, a spokesperson for Encore Boston Harbor said the casino reached a “preliminary agreement” with Caesars Interactive Entertainment for the operator to receive one of the property’s mobile sports betting licenses. In new filings, attorneys for Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt argue the validity of four tribal gaming compacts the governor signed back in 2020 because of a U.S. Department of Interior decision they say overrides state court rulings.  The legal briefs were filed Friday afternoon in Washington D.C., according to FOX23. Casino and hospitality company Red Rock Resorts announced Monday that its Board of Directors has declared a “special dividend” of $1.00 per Class A common share.
